Peter Carr

Maryland was established with religious freedom for Catholics. The colonial economy was based on tobacco cultivated by Africans who had been enslaved.

Peter Carr was born about 1625 in England.

He had two children with his first wife:
Grace Carr (1648, married George McMillion) and
Arthur Carr (died 1688).

In 1659, Willam Heard signed over 160 acres in Charles County, Maryland to Peter Carr which he signed over to Henry Peere and William Crafford a few days later. They signed it over to Walter Story, Sr. and John Louden.

In 1659 he, and others, petitioned the court for payment "for trouble & paynes wee tooke in taking Mr Hutts Vessell." He was paid 20 pounds of tobacco a day for four days work.

He married Anne about 1662. Anne was the widow of both Henry Lilly and John Guy.

Henry and Anne's daughter was Elizabeth (Eliza) Lilly (1660-1676).
